Elizabeth P. Lin
ELIZABETH LIN is the founder of The Lin Law Firm. For over a decade, Ms. Lin has focused her practice on investigating fraud and litigating class actions and other complex business lawsuits on behalf of individuals and institutions. Prior to establishing The Lin Law Firm, Ms. Lin was a partner and senior counsel at major plaintiff law firms, where she successfully achieved multi-million dollar recoveries for defrauded individuals and entities. Among other things, Ms. Lin was one of the lead attorneys who prosecuted In re Lehman Brothers Securities Litigation (S.D.N.Y.) ($516 million settlement), involving the collapse of investment bank Lehman Brothers which shook the global financial markets. Ms. Lin was also instrumental in successfully achieving recoveries for aggrieved investors in In re New Century Securities Litigation (C.D. Cal.) ($125 million settlement), relating to misrepresentations concerning the quality and valuation of mortgages, and In re Chiron Securities Litigation (N.D. Cal.) ($30 million settlement), concerning contaminated flu vaccines that set off a severe vaccine shortage in the United States. Ms. Lin was also one of the lead attorneys in In re Toyota Securities Litigation (C.D. Cal.) ($25.5 million settlement), pertaining to acceleration problems in Toyota vehicles. Ms. Lin has also prosecuted merger and acquisition cases, including In re Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. Shareholder Litig. (Travis County, Texas).
Ms. Lin’s record of success includes numerous recoveries in other cases, including In re Lantronix Inc. Sec. Litig. (C.D. Cal.) ($15 million settlement), In re 99 Cents only Stores (C.D. Cal.) ($6.75 million settlement), In re Aura Systems, Inc. Sec. Litig. (C.D. Cal.) ($18 million settlement, plus shares and warrants), and In re Southern Pacific Funding Corp. Sec. Litig. (D. Or.) ($19.5 million settlement).
Throughout her career, Ms. Lin has obtained many favorable court rulings and orders. Courts have also recognized the vigor and quality of Ms. Lin’s representation. For example, in In re OmniVision Inc. Sec. Litig. (N.D. Cal.), in approving the $13.75 million settlement, the court specifically noted the fact that the case withstood dismissal “is some testament to Lead Counsel’s skill.”
Ms. Lin has taught continuing education course in class action litigation discovery, has spoken on a panel regarding the mortgage meltdown in connection with securities litigation, and has co-authored an article regarding the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Ms. Lin is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of California; the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of California; the Western District of Michigan; the District of Colorado; and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits.
